A place where Colorado Rockies baseball card collectors (all 3 of us) can waste some time reading about our favorite sport. The Rockies and their cards will be the primary focus, but I like to go off on tangents as well so anything and everything baseball related may be covered here.

2012 Quarry Unlimited - #4 Tampa Bay Rays Part 1

Continuing my list of teams that no one else blogs about (or so it seems), we come to the Tampa Bay Rays at #4.  This team is an oddity on my list.  Before the 2008 Playoffs, if the Rays were contracted I would not have said a word in opposition.  I cared that little about them.  However, that 2008 season made me somewhat of a bandwagon fan that has stayed on board somewhat.  Unless you are a hardcore Phillies fan, how could you not have rooted for the Rays in the 2008 World Series?  There was very little about them that was unlikable.  Of course that was 4 years ago, but aside from the 2007 Rockies I don't think I have ever rooted for a Series team more.  I don't know if the Rays will maintain a high spot on my list or if they will slip down toward irrelevancy again, but I am sure that they will never fall into the "hated teams" category.

If I were a Rays fan...

Least Favorite Player (current) - Ryan Roberts

Least Favorite Player (all time) - Jose Canseco

2012 Tampa Bay Rays Total Cards = 44

I think I nailed the Rays on color.  Of the templates I had to create from scratch, I think I did the best job fitting into the scheme with the Rays.  What do you guys think of this group?

Thanx for reading.

When I saw the Rays were up next, my brain automatically assumed you'd use green for the team name. But, of course, the Rays have gotten away from that. So you got the color spot on!

The Sam Fuld photo is very amusing.
