A place where Colorado Rockies baseball card collectors (all 3 of us) can waste some time reading about our favorite sport. The Rockies and their cards will be the primary focus, but I like to go off on tangents as well so anything and everything baseball related may be covered here.

July Quarry Group Break - Box #4 2007 SP Rookie Edition

I'm back for a late night box busting to complete the main portion of this month's Quarry Group Break.  Tonight's box is 2007 SP Rookie Edition featuring some tremendous rookie cards.  Okay maybe these aren't true rookies for most, thanks to Bowman putting out cards of 14 year old now.  But there are still some nice cards to be had.  The base set is #'s 1-100 and features mostly veterans in a horizontal design.  The next 200 features a number of rookies in 4 different card designs.  One is a "new" design for 2007.  The other three are throwback designs for 1993, 1995, and 1996 (my personal favorite).  There are also expired autograph redemptions of some of the bigger names which we thankfully avoided.  Two autos per box, let's see what we got.

BOX WINNERS
Cubs
Rangers
Devil Rays
Twins
Yankees

The Rangers are our first double hitters in this break.  See Brian, I told you you should be glad to have your team this time.  Congrats to the Cubbies for getting a nice auto.  It is really surprising because the Cubs usually avoid me like the plague.  I think that is the Cubs are the team that I pull least frequently, but congrats to Justin for me breaking the streak.  The Rays, Twins and Yanks just racked up on cards out of this box (probably winners on quantity over quality such as the Brewers, Giants and my Rockies).

BOX LOSERS
Mets
Royals
Braves
Cardinals
Orioles

The Mets got the first card out of the box and did not get another one to make a rare appearance on the losers list.   The Royals also got a single card and they are more experienced veterans of the losers list.  The Braves, Cardinals, and Orioles were among several teams that only received two base cards and no rookies.  The Braves had done pretty well in the other boxes though.  For the Birds and the um...Birds well the first of two bonus boxes will start on Saturday.
