Here we come to our first team that has moved down in my rankings, the Cincinnati Reds. After my grandmother passed away, my grandfather and I would spend every evening watching the Reds game whereas before we would rarely if ever do that. The Reds are my local Fox Sports team, for those of you wondering. Anyway in this time of watching the Reds play, I often found myself rooting against them when they were playing the Pirates or Brewers or even the A's mainly due to one reason, Brandon Phillips. I could see the Reds moving back up as soon as he has moved on to another team, hopefully not Colorado. He is just so cocky and arrogant, it really has turned against the team as a whole. Has one player in particular ever turned you against a team? While you ponder, let's take a look at some trivia.
REDS TEAM TRIVIA
# of players to play in a Reds game (1993-2013) - 454
# of those players to have a Reds card (as of today) - 331
% of Reds players to appear on a Reds card - 72.9%
Big names left out - Mark Bellhorn, Todd Hollandsworth, Frank Viola
# of new Reds in 2013 - 13
Total # of Reds in 2013 - 39
position on last year's list -- #5 = DOWN 2
Let's take a look at the first half of the 2013 Cincinnati Reds with the team card leading the way.
I'll be back tomorrow with Part 2.
Thanx for reading.

I don't think I've ever had one player tarnish my opinion of a team, although Ryan Braun came very close with the Brewers (there were others on the team who bugged me, too).
The opposite -- the team tarnishes my opinion of the player -- has happened many, many times.
It certainly seems like a distinct possibility that Brandon Phillips won't be a Red next year anyhow (time will tell I guess).
As for one player souring my opinion of a team, it's happened a few times:
1. Barry Bonds with the Giants
2. A-Rod with the Rangers
3. Braun with the Brewers
4. Manny with the Dodgers
5. Furcal with any team he ever played for.
