A place where Colorado Rockies baseball card collectors (all 3 of us) can waste some time reading about our favorite sport. The Rockies and their cards will be the primary focus, but I like to go off on tangents as well so anything and everything baseball related may be covered here.

2014 Quarry Unlimited - #27 Boston Red Sox Part 1

The Boston Red Sox will finish up the next to last week of the 2014 Quarry Unlimited set.  Boston is one of the most confusing teams in the history of baseball.  Four seasons ago, Boston had one of the most epic collapses in MLB history and somehow sullied the good name of fried chicken in the process.  If that had been Minnesota or Pittsburgh, the fallout would still be felt and would probably continue for the rest of the decade.  However, for Boston it was a bad season, followed by a World Series win, followed by another poor season.  It's just all so confusing.  I can't decide whether they are a really good team that has had a couple of bad seasons or if they are a really bad team that got really lucky in 2013.  Perhaps 2015 will finally answer the question of Boston, but I really doubt it.  They seem destined to be a team that's just undefinable.  In other words, I don't really know what Boston is, but I know I don't like them very much.

I'm a sucker for close-up action, and I don't mean the same stupid "pitcher in wind-up with weird expression on his face" photo that makes up 1/3 of Topps' base set these days, but the Jemile Weeks kind of card. Great photo/card.
