A place where Colorado Rockies baseball card collectors (all 3 of us) can waste some time reading about our favorite sport. The Rockies and their cards will be the primary focus, but I like to go off on tangents as well so anything and everything baseball related may be covered here.

July Quarry Group Break - Box #1 2000 Pacific Crown Collection

Welcome to this month's edition of the Quarry Group Break.  I am very pleased to announce that EVERY team was purchased and there will be some mighty fine (well I hope) bonus material.  But that will come soon enough.  For now let's get started with the main portion of the break.  First up is a box of 2000 Pacific Crown Collection, which as most of you know I LOVE Pacific.  The base set is kind of dull, but Pacific is all about the inserts and actually we have a pretty SWEET hit in here as well.  Enough of my storytelling, let's let the cards speak for themselves.

Since I want to list the entire box in one post, I am going light on the base card pictures for this box.  I will show the first and any special cards.  The rest will be ALL text.  I have to give you guys something to show off on your own blogs.

Well that was a nice unexpected hit of a Hall of Famer going to 3-time break participant Ryan G.  Hope you like it.

Box Winners
Padres
Mariners
Brewers
Yankees
Red Sox

Even though the Padres had the fewest base cards, they were the big box winner with the Gwynn.  The Mariners got a very low #'d early Alex Rodriguez to take 2nd,  The Brewers and Yankees also got a nice #'d parallel.  The Moment of Truth Nomar is also pretty cool, but would've been really great a few years earlier.

Box Losers
Rockies
Twins
White Sox
Tigers
Phillies

Another month and another poor showing for my team.  The "bottom" three teams on this list (Rox, Twins, ChiSox) still got 9 cards each, which is another reason I love Pacific.  Teams are evenly distributed and make for a fairer break.  Honestly it was hard to pick the losers of this box, because I was still happy with my take.  And that's what makes a great group break box.

Nice hits for the Padres and Mariners. Hope the Braves get one too! :-)

I'm definitely happy with those two inserts! I love the Net-Fusions cards, especially.

Though going by book value, the A-Rod's worth 3x as much, so the Mariners did very well. Heck, even without looking at book value, a /27 card of a major star is pretty nice.
