We must be nearing the end of the countdown if non-Rockies NL West team start showing up. In the 2014 season, the Padres were as boring as usual to me. I am still of the opinion that they are boring because they have no identity of their own. Their uniforms look just like the Brewers and are overshadowed in Southern California by the Dodgers and the Angels. I don't have the Padres this high because I like them, I have them this high because I don't really concern myself with them. In fact if my opinion mattered, the Astros and Padres would have swapped spots when Houston was moved to the AL West. They have some solid fans, but I'm sure even they can admit that their franchise has, at best, spun their wheels since 1969. There are a couple of obvious exception years like 1984 or 1998, but those are definitely outlier years. Of course, this offseason the Padres have traded everyone for everyone. They have definitely created a buzz, but time will tell whether this is a solid foundation or just another mud hole in which San Diego gets stuck.

I left a similar comment on "All the Way to the Backstop" a few days ago, but I really had no idea that Xavier Nady was in the big leagues last year.
And it looks like the saga of Alex Torres and the Amazing Hat continues.
I'm obviously biased, but I love these. I could make a really solid Top 10 on this half alone. Especially love the Cashner. Really can't wait for Part 2.
As a Padres fan I love these, especially since some of these guys will never have an actual card.
