A place where Colorado Rockies baseball card collectors (all 3 of us) can waste some time reading about our favorite sport. The Rockies and their cards will be the primary focus, but I like to go off on tangents as well so anything and everything baseball related may be covered here.

My Top 5 Cardinals Cards
1. Allen Craig (blue)
2. Joe Kelly (yellow)
3. Daniel Descalso (orange)
4. Justin Masterson (blue)
5. Carlos Martinez (yellow)

I absolutely love the Allen Craig card.  The sliding catch with the flying dirt is all well and good, but the star of that card is definitely the shocked female fan in the background.  Great image.  The Joe Kelly card is just humorous.  I will never not like seeing odd things like cups or gloves atop the head of a baseball player.  What has to go through the mind of a person to stick a paper cup on their cap with bubble gum AND think that will help their team rally?  It's really much better if you don't think about it.  The Descalso card is one of those images that just doesn't seem to fit with baseball.  It's like seeing a baseball image in football weather.  Just a nice "fish out of water" photo.  On the Masterson, I have to agree with Dimebox Nick.  There are definitely not enough photos of pitchers doing something other than pitching and crossing the plate is near the top of that list.  Finally, I will close with the Carlos Martinez.  Part of me wanted to make this one much higher, perhaps even as high as #2, because it really was a nice capture by the photographer.  In the end I settled with #5 because I just liked the others a tad bit better.  I haven't done this yet, but I do have to give an honorable mention to the yellow Keith Butler card.  I'm sure a certain bird of the evening will really like that card.

Coming Monday - #19 Philadelphia Phillies

Thanx for reading.

Definitely like that Keith Butler card, even though I don't know who he is.

Also, I was going to comment yesterday that the woman in the Craig photo looks like she could catch the ball in her mouth.

Wow, you're right, that Allen Craig card is awesome. I'm also a big fan of Carlos Martinez' jumping grab, don't see very many cool fielding shots of pitchers like that. The Molina and Jay cards would also be at the bottom of my top 5. Well done.
